When the government alleges that a foreign national is not lawfully present in the US or should be deported for various reasons, including status violations and criminal issues, the government may initiate removal proceedings (commonly known as deportation proceedings) against that person.
Typically, such proceedings include hearings in front of an Immigration Judge, and may include appeals at the Board of Immigration Appeals or in federal court. Immigration attorneys at MHB represent clients in all stages of removal proceedings. We work with clients to formulate the best strategy in defense against removal and pursue relief applications, such as asylum, cancellation of removal, waivers, etc. so that our clients can avoid deportation or obtain legal status. We represent clients in their appeals both at the Board of Immigration Appeals and in immigration court.
