Attorney Taren obtained a settlement against a builder, developer and architectural firm that constructed a multi-family property in violation of the Design and Construction requirements of the Fair Housing Act. The HUD Conciliation Agreement required the retrofitting of bathrooms to ensure that they were handicap accessible and the installation of patio ramps so that persons in wheelchairs could fully access their apartment patios. Additionally, a $60,000 monetary award to the Housing Center and its attorneys was obtained.
